The Judy Project

I will present The Judy Project at the Society for Theatre Research 75th Anniversary Year Conference 18 – 21 July.

The Judy Project will be presented during Assembling Puppetry at the annual PSi conference hosted by the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama at Senate House Saturday, 22 June, 16:00 – 17:30 BST.

I will be presenting on The Judy Project as part of The Society for Theatre Research’s Study Day: Popular Entertainments: the Past in Our Presence on Saturday, May 11th 2024
London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA).

Come to see a Punch & Judy like none you have seen before! Spike “Bones” Lidington will premiere his show at the 49^th annual Covent Garden May Fayre and Puppet Festival. Watch Ms Judy take centre stage as she navigates Mr Punch’s shenanigans, police harassment and questions their 360-year relationship. Giggle along as the Devil and their right-hand Croc (Dorothy) try to take Mr Punch and Ms Judy down to hell, but they are thwarted in the end, leaving everything fine beside the seaside.

This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie grant agreement No 101020076 and the University of Exeter’s Public Engagement with Research fund. It is being implemented at the University of Exeter in the Department of Drama.

The Judy Project will be presented at Université Paul Valery, Montpellier, FR, hosted by Didier Plassard’s PuppetPlays project on Monday, 8 April 2024, at 16:30 in Salle Kouros (bât. Saint-Charles 2).
